SparkAir installs home and workplace EV chargers across Melbourne — dedicated Mode 3 wall units on their own circuit, with RCD protection, load assessment and the required Electrical Safety Certificate. Work is carried out by a Victorian Registered Electrical Contractor (REC 37544) to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and AS/NZS 3.1.12 (EV supply equipment).

Plugging an EV into a standard 10A powerpoint is slow and not designed for repeated long charging sessions. A dedicated Mode 3 charger is safer and much faster.
Most Melbourne homes are single-phase, which supports chargers up to around 7.4 kW. Three-phase supply supports up to 22 kW charging where the vehicle and switchboard allow. We'll confirm what your supply and switchboard can handle before quoting.
If your board is old or full, you may need a switchboard upgrade before the charger circuit can be added.
Many modern EV chargers support load management — reducing charge rate when the house load is high, and charging from surplus solar when available. We install units that suit your setup and configure them for your usage pattern.

Many chargers support solar-aware charging and load management. If your inverter and charger are compatible, we'll set the unit up to prioritise surplus solar.
A standard wall-mounted charger with a short cable run from the switchboard is often a same-day install. Longer runs, sub-boards, three-phase upgrades or complex charger positions can push it to two visits.
In some cases the electricity distributor asks to be notified about a new dedicated EV load, particularly on three-phase installs or larger chargers. We handle any required notification as part of the installation.
