Can you replace my old halogen downlights with LEDs?
Yes. In most cases the existing cut-outs can be reused. We remove the halogen fittings, check the wiring and transformers, and install new LED downlights sized and spaced correctly for the room.

02Details
Getting the lighting right isn't just about lumens. We look at ceiling height, room use, existing switching, colour temperature and beam angle before quoting a layout, so the finished result is comfortable to live in — not glary or patchy.
Fittings are installed to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules with correct clearances to insulation and combustibles. When we replace halogens with LEDs, we also remove or make safe any redundant halogen transformers left in the ceiling cavity — a common overheating and rodent-damage source. Prescribed work is certified with an Electrical Safety Certificate on completion under Energy Safe Victoria.

Warm white (around 3000K) suits living areas and bedrooms. Cool white (around 4000K) suits kitchens, laundries and workspaces. We can also install dimmable, tunable fittings.
Yes. LEDs need trailing-edge or LED-compatible dimmers, matched to the driver. Using an old halogen dimmer usually causes flicker or buzz. We install the correct dimmer with your fittings.
Yes — from simple Wi-Fi bulbs and dimmers through to whole-home lighting control. We'll recommend a setup that suits your budget and how you actually use the space.
Modern IC-rated LED downlights are designed to be safely covered by insulation. Older halogens ran extremely hot and needed clearance from insulation and combustibles. Upgrading removes that risk and lets your ceiling insulation cover the whole ceiling properly.
As a rough guide, one downlight per 1.2–1.5 m² for general living, or one per 1 m² over kitchen benches. Spacing evenly and matching the beam angle to the ceiling height matters more than the raw count — we lay it out on site before installing.
