What a split system installation includes

1. On-site assessment of room size, orientation, insulation and use.
2. Correct capacity sizing so the unit isn't under- or over-specified.
3. Indoor and outdoor unit mounting in suitable positions.
4. Refrigerant pipework, drain, and interconnecting cable.
5. Dedicated electrical circuit and isolator where required.
6. Vacuum, charge, commission and test the system.
7. Electrical Safety Certificate and ARCtick paperwork.

Sizing matters more than brand

An under-sized system runs constantly and never quite gets there. An over-sized system short-cycles, wastes energy and doesn't dehumidify properly. We size systems based on the actual room — floor area, ceiling height, window area, orientation and insulation — not a rule of thumb.

Single-head vs multi-head

• Single-head — one indoor unit paired with one outdoor unit. Ideal for one room.
• Multi-head — one outdoor unit driving several indoor heads. Fewer outdoor units on the wall, but each head shares capacity, so sizing matters.
• Ducted systems are a different product; if that's what you're after, we'll refer you.

Property types we install in

• Period homes and terraces — heritage overlays limit outdoor unit placement. Pipework often needs to run through tight roof cavities or around lath-and-plaster walls, and older switchboards may need an upgrade before we can add a dedicated air-conditioning circuit.
• Apartments and townhouses — outdoor unit position is usually pre-approved by the body corporate. We work with your building manager and quote around what's allowed on the facade or balcony.
• Family homes and open-plan renovations — often multi-head candidates. Sizing each head to its actual room stops the biggest one running flat out while the others do nothing.
• Home offices and studios — a small single-head unit sized for the room is far more comfortable (and cheaper to run) than trying to condition the whole zone from a bigger central head.

Standards, compliance and warranty

Refrigeration work is carried out under our ARCtick licence (L214305), the national requirement for handling refrigerant. The electrical connection — dedicated circuit, isolator and RCD — is installed to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules under our REC (37544) and certified with an Electrical Safety Certificate under Energy Safe Victoria. Correct pipework, evacuation and charge are what most manufacturer warranties depend on, so we document each step for your records.
